TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Prior to the fitting or consultation

You agree to ensure that all garment(s) are either:(i) freshly laundered; or (ii) dry cleaned before they are presented for alteration or repair. We reserve the right to refuse to undertake any work in the event that either of these conditions is not complied with.

Consultation appointment

All fittings are by appointment only. You agree to keep the consultation time appointed or, in the alternative, that you inform us of any delays or cancellations.

We reserve the right to charge you for missed appointments, when: (i) no notice; or (ii) less than 24 hours cancelation notice is given to us.

Fittings and fees

Consultation and fitting fees are included in all the work undertaken by Beyond The Looking Glass, unless you decide not to go ahead with the work discussed. In these circumstances, a fitting fee of £20 will still be charged to you. This is payable to Beyond The Looking Glass at that time.

Fixed Fees and Fee Estimates

Standard Alterations

The standard price list has been prepared by way of a guide for the basic alterations. These prices are quoted for standard alterations.

Complex Alterations and Design Work

More complex alterations involving all bridal garments, formal and tailoring workwill be estimated at the consultation appointment.

Sometimes the initial estimate provided for complex work will have to be revised. In the event thatthis occurs, you will be notified in advance so that the revised estimate can be agreed with you before any further work is done.In the event that the revised fee cannot be agreed, you are still liable to pay for all work that has already been completed.

Deposit and payment for alterations

Prior to commencement of all work,50% of the agreed fee is payable. The remaining 50% is payable on completion.

Deposit and payment for custom clothing design work

Prior to commencement of all custom work, 50% of the agreed fee is also payable. The remaining 50% is payable on completion.

Materials and haberdashery

The cost of all fabric, lining, haberdashery,and any other materials that are required, is payable in advance of the commencement of all work.

Time for the completion of alterations

Standard alterations are normally completed within 7 to 10 working days, unless otherwise stated at the time of the initial consultation.

Agreed deadlines can only be achieved when there is full attendance and cooperation at all fitting appointments that we consider necessary for the completion of the work. Failure to attend the requisite fitting appointments and/or cooperation may result in delays.

An express alteration service is available. There is an additional 25% fee that will be applied to the final cost.

Uncollected items and disposal

Please note any uncollected items may be sold or disposed of to cover our costs, within six weeks of notice of collection.

Insurance and liability for clothing

Beyond The Looking Glass will take the up most care of your treasured garments. All garments left with us are entirely at the owners own risk. Beyond The Looking Glass has insurance for garments in its possession to a maximum of £100 per item or £1000 per customer.

The company cannot accept liability for clothing damaged whilst in the care of any third party (for example dry cleaners, invisible mending who are engaged on your behalf).

Work specification/quality control and defects

For each garment a detailed description will be prepared recording the customers measurements and garment alteration instructions. (The instructions agreed with you.)

A copy of the instructions will be provided at the initial fitting. During the alteration process, the garment will be quality controlled throughout and after the alterations have been completed.

If the garment is not acceptable to the customer as a result of the alterations not being carried out in accordance with the client’s instructions, we will rectify the work at our expense.

If further alterations are required, the additional work will be charged accordingly.
